Note: Goldstone is a man-made material, dating from the mid-17th century Venice. Some say that Goldstone was discovered by an experimental monk (Goldstone is hence also sometimes known as Monk's Stone or Monk's Gold), but most likely it was invented by the Miotti family, who received an exclusive license to manufacture this amazing substance. In addition to the normal gold-flecked color, there is also Blue Goldstone -- which is a dark blue/purple with gold flecks. Note that the Blue Goldstone beads below are not as dark as they appear in the picture, and are actually more of a dark blue color than black.
