Very pretty strand of ancient Roman glass beads excavated from Djenne, Mali. Many of the beads are translucent blue, while others have a thin coat of iridescence caused by devitrification of the glass. Strand is slightly more than 24 inches long. The dark blue bead in the center is 14.7 mm in diameter. The two white beads on either side measure about 13.5 mm in diameter.
