Nice strand of large faceted carnelian cubes. These beads are truly lovely with very sharp facets. Most faceted carnelian beads like these were made in the Iber Oberstein region of Germany and then sent to Africa as trade goods. This region of Germany was blessed with abundant water power which was used to facet these beads. They are really in excellent condition. The rest of the beads are a nice assortment of faceted and pressed Czech glass from the early 20th century or latest 19th century. While the necklace is well strung, the cubes don't lie perfectly and probably should be restrung.
The necklace measures 36 inches. The center cubes measure just under 25 mm on each side.
