These beads are made of cow bone from Kenya. The white bone is stained a dark brown except for the portions of the bead that were coated with a wax that leaves a distinctive pattern on the beads.

Each strand measures about 26 -- 28 inches. The individual beads may measure between 26 mm -- 28 mm x 8 mm x 10 mm. The pattern on these beads is that of elongated diamonds parallel to each other going around the circumference of the bead.
