Nice long strand of ancient glass beads from the Djenne area of Mali. These translucent blue and green eye beads have mostly lost their eyes over the years, but are in remarkably good condition -- especially the beads towards the center. The colors are just lovely. The center bead is a Venetian chevron-type layered bead -- but with flat inner layers. The finish on the chevron is not particularly good. It measures 14 mm x 16 mm. The entire strand measures 34 inches long.
