There are 20 cross beads on this 16 inch strand. The turquoise has a teal, blue-green color with a cracked design on the surface. The cross measures 19 mm by 19 mm. This distinctive shape is sometimes called a Jerusalem Cross. Crosses of this type are associated with Christianity, especially the Greek Orthodox variety, and with the Crusades of the Middle Ages. However, stone crosses of this shape dating back 1600 year BC have been found in Greek temples. The shape is sometimes called a Tree of Life.
