This 34" seed bead necklace was made in Ghana from 19th century European seed beads. This necklace has 49 strands. Beadwork of this sort is known as Tamba beads. Traditionally, women wore them around their waists. They make beautiful necklaces, which is how they are mostly used today. They proved very popular at our shop during the holidays. We don't see tambas of this quality all the time and have very limited supply.
