Nepali sterling silver and imitation "Sherpa" coral bead. The base of the bead is probably a high-quality plastic, and has been capped with sterling silver with a repousse design (i.e., hand-beaten from behind) and then attached to the bead. The bead has been "burned" to make it look more like coral. The bead measures 24 mm in diameter and 28 mm long.
