Smooth Silver Indian Ear Plugs

These chic modern ear plugs are actually made in India, likely in the mid 20th century.  Originally, these pieces would have been worn in the elongated earlobe of Indian women.  The plugs measure approximately 1.25 inches in diameter.  We are not entirely sure what the metal is -- though it is likely some tribal silver alloy (probably less than 80% silver), but it's hard to be sure.  These ear plugs come out of the estate of renowned bead collector Naomi Lindstrom.  Very cool pieces that could be worn as ear plugs or as pendants.   Price is for the pair of earrings.
