Nice fancy black Venetian trade beads, dating to the mid/late 19th century. This strand is chock full of really nice beads at a very reasonable price. The bright red bead in the middle has raised dots and is entirely unique in my experience. There is also a large white "Zen" bead (also called "Six" beads) in the middle of the strand, and 18 smaller black-background Zen beads populating the rest of the strand. The other beads are all very nice examples of skunk beads, dot beads, etc. Most are in good to very-good condition; the main exception being the fancy Venetian with the gold/aventurine decoration in the midde, which shows a lot of wear. Strand measures 22 inches long, not including about 2.5 inches of raffia cord in the back. The red bead in the center measures just under 15 mm in diameter.
