This is a great strand of African King Beads. These beautiful beads were made in Venice in the 19th century and traded to Africa, where they were much prized in West Africa. These beads are in really great shape -- all are intact and have really nice designs. One even has a very unusual lightly blue stripe going around the equator of the beads! This is not to say that every bead is perfect -- a number have minor chips or imperfections -- but overall, it's a very impressive strand!
The strand measures 25 inches long. Individual beads measure 15 - 18 mm in diameter.
