Molded Russian Blue Strand

Great strand of mixed Russian Blue trade beads.  There are two distinct styles of beads -- small molded faceted beads and then a larger more traditional Russian Blue bead.

Russian Blues got their name because they were the favored trade item of Russian fur traders operating in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska during the 18th and 19th centuries.

The strand measures 22 inches long.  The larger beads in the center measure up to 11 mm in diameter, while the smaller beads at the top of the strand measure approximately 8 mm.
