Yellow Striped Trade Bead Strand

This is a massive strand of trade beads -- thirty-two inches long, and made up of one uniform bead. This bead is cut into thick slices, or slabs. Many of them are unevenly sliced, at a diagonal, resulting in beads that are thicker at one end and thinner at the other. It is difficult to give the measurements of these beads because of their unevenness, but the largest beads are about 15 mm - 17 mm on their longest sides, with diameters of about 13 mm.

This is a thick and very heavy strand, perhaps not beautiful in the usual sense of the word to some people, but the beads actually are in superb condition with only a few little nicks on the ends of a couple of beads. Quite a collector's piece.
