Wire Wrapping II: Wrapping Organic Objects
Prerequisite: Wire Wrapping I and/or previous metal work experience
This class is a fun and creative way to think outside your standard box of beads. Express your design ideas through free style wire wrapping of stones, shells, arrowheads and other organic objects. Wire wrapping is one of the loveliest ways of converting that beautiful and unusual object into wearable jewelry combined to make a statement piece. We encourage you to bring pieces you may have to wire wrap. Advanced techniques of wire use are taught in this class: hammering (hardening) wire; making a fishhook clasp; using a mandrel to make shapes, forms, and loops; creating spiral coils; chain linking; and stone wrapping.
